Dogs Cloned From Fat Stem Cells - Korea Times →
this is wicked cool. korea has had one of the longest and rockiest histories with cloning science and all its myriad technical and ethical gray areas (a little background info here), so this is a really interesting development.

Piles Of Glass Turn Into Piles Of Gems - Meg's... →
wtf? 2 cars stolen from friends in portland in as many months? there is a serial car thief and he happens to be after earlier 90s/mid 80s models of japanese cars in nw portland. nevermind that these are the most easiley stealable cars on earth, its an epidemic i tell you. still, sorry meg. that sucks.
in retrospect, i feel bad that i kept requesting...
seeing as one of my friends was leaving town and another had just arrived, last night seemed like a really appropriate time to rage it a little bit, and in seoul the most logical place for such activities happens to be hongdae, a neighborhood of bars, clubs, and galleries surrounding the biggest arts university in the city. my friend pete had called earlier in the evening and said he had a bouncer...
appreciation
while going to work the other day, i had my ipod in and was listening to a stand up record. it came to the end of the cd, but my hands were full so i couldnt change tracks and for the subsequent minute and a half i felt like i was the greatest human being alive. i was getting applause for everything: opening doors, looking at people, turning left, everything. it was wonderful. this discovery could...

Difficult To Tell If T.J. Maxx Hit Hard By... →
this reminds me of when t.j. maxx opened in corvallis. i went there literally a week after it had opened and the freshly laid linoleum had already turned into a minefield of xxl tommy hilfiger white t-shirts, crumpled apple-bottom jeans, and (strangely enough) exclusively left footed jelly sandals.

hahaha this one is pretty good, mainly because i tried to make a dance mix one time and genius did a better job than i did.
christmas cakes and handsy snowmen
unbeknownst to me before the yuletide season, christmas is very much a couples holiday in korea. since it doesnt have a terribley long history here, and since half the people dont really buy the whole “jesus” story, december 25th lacks the family and religious connotations it has elsewhere. instead, korea has decided to make it a valentines day of sorts, with couples littering the...
hey fellas - i doubt any of you are reading this but i just wanted you to know that two of my proudest moments were as such: playing a 5 song-hour long set as some deserted bar outisde of seatttle and recording a fine live performance in utah someplace
tour guiding seoul
so, my girlfriend lindsay left seoul yesterday having spent the last 3 weeks here experiencing all the weird, interesting, and alcoholic things that korea has to offer. all in all it was a great time and over the course of her trip i realized i knew more about this city than i had previously thought. by no stretch of the imagination does that mean that im claiming to be an expert on a place where...
